Optical/Photonic Test Engineer
LightIC Technologies is seeking to hire a talented and motivated optical/photonic test engineer to join our rapid growing photonics development team. What you will do:
- Design, implement and maintain optical and electrical test setups
- Design and implement test procedures for silicon photonics chips
- Design and implement test procedures for optical subassemblies consisting of light sources, photonic chips, micro-optics, and drivers etc.
- Carry out data analysis for performance assessment and photonic IC debugging
What you need to have:
- M. S. with 5+ years in silicon photonics design, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Optical Engineering, Engineering Physics or a related field
- Solid background with photonic devices including lasers, passive and active components, detectors.
- Solid understanding of optical/electromagnetic fundamentals such as optical mode, waveguide, interference, etc.
- Experience with photonics testing including fiber-to-chip coupling
- Good programming skills related to test automation and data analysis
- Familiar with photonic testing equipment such as tunable lasers, photodetectors, optomechanical motion controls, oscilloscopes, and customized FPGA and PCB boards, etc.
- Knowledge of silicon photonics chip packaging
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, with an engineering mindset and a hands-on, get-stuff-done attitude
- Strong problem-solving skills
